I am of course very familiar with this ghazal but your post has forced me to reflect more thoroughly and with more focus on each verse today and It is so enjoyable all over again. (I do not know if you have not performed Hajj yet) We, were in the vehicle heading toward Madina after we had finished Hajj rites in Makkah etc. One of our friends recited this based on the above ghazal: EemaN mujhay rokay hay to khaiNchay hay mujhay Ishq Kába meray peechay hay hay Madina meray aagay The love that all of us have for our prophet (S) really becomes evident at such moments and you, in that part of travel end up singing Aaow madinay chalain or any other of many such verses that so many poets have written.
