Bachpan aur Eid ka woh Hilali chand!

Jab hum chote chote se the to har Eid per sham se chand dekhne ghar ki chat (roof) pe char jaate...phir pata lagta pichli gali se chand nazar aa raha hai, to hum wahan bhagte....

Buzurg kehte ke - Eid ka Hilali chand dekh ker jo Dua ma'ngo, zaroor puri hoti hai..aur hum kiya mangte? School ki aik 'extra' chutti, dher sari eidi, Eid wale din Pepsi ki 'botal', khilone, Cricket main Pakistan ki jeet, Javed Miandad ki century, naye joote, Eid ka naya Shalwar Kameez (neele rang ka)....

Baqol Faiz sahab: "Aur Dil kehta hai har baar, chalo laut chalo"*

And Heart says every time ! lets take journey back

IDD Mubarak.

Your children are not your children: They are the sons and daughters of Life's longing for itself.
They come through you but not from you, And though they are with you, yet they belong not to you.
You may give them your love but not your thoughts, For they have their own thoughts.
You may house their bodies but not their souls, For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow, which
You cannot visit, not even in your dreams. You may strive to be like them,
But seek not to make them like you. For life goes not backward nor tarries with yesterday.
- Khalil Jibran

Bro, thank you! I was following & commenting on your blog from 2007, always thought something close to like “ “Dekhna taqreer ki lazzat ke jo usne kaha. Main ne yeh jaana ke goya yeh bhi mere dil mein hai.”. , since my comments was anonymous I thought I should give a name! Hmmm this instigates the journey! Your blog.
Thank you once again!

Khalil Jibran may be right in philosophy but what we as human beings feel is exactly what Mystic is saying. I fully understand our children here know nothing of the thrill and experience of visualizing the hilal but they do not know what they are missing even if we tell them because when we tell them they are just "old stories" for them what Qur'an says "Asateer-ul-awwaleen"

What does it mean: "Asteerul Awaleen"
