Ahmad Nadeem Qasmi writeup
One thing which always bothered me about Qudratullah Shahab and his friend circle including Ashfaq Ahmad is their relentless support for dictators in Pakistan. This one small writeup from Ahmad Nadeem Qasmi is a historical piece on death of 'mazahimati adab' of Urdu literature.

These are big naes of Urdu sahafat indeed and although Nadeem saheb is placing a blame on Shahab saheb with strong words I am not as much critical about him, Having read Shahab name I view his stance a bit differently Shahab did not have an atom of prejudice of any kind.
He spent a lot of time with Ayub and writes all good and bad points about him But shaft is not the only thing Ayub attacked. In my opinion his long continued badshahat damaged leadership in Pakistan permanently and that is an effect still palpably apparent in Pakistan
I agree. Although considered as a golden period for the Pakistan economy, it damaged the country at a bigger level.
