Samiul Aleem

 (A few months back, I was in Pakistan. It was an interesting trip. A lot of unusual things happened)

I was simply buying bread at a local bakery in the neighborhood where I was staying. A maulvi Sahab was in conversation with a couple of people around. I heard this intriguing explanation. I am writing in English for ease.

In Quran, Allah always used Samee (listener) before Aleem (knowledgable). It is a lesson for all of us to gain knowledge; it's essential to learn the skill of being a good listener.
