'is rang ka kapRa'

(overheard at Zainab market, Karachi - while I wait to buy my thing)

"Bhaiyya is rang ka kapRa mil jaaye ga (holding color's paper). Aik shalwar kurta banwana hai"

"Nahi bhai - ye rang to nahi, is se milte julte rang ka kapRa dikha dun?"

"Nahi bhaiyya, bilkul aesa hi rang chahiye"

"Bilkul yahi rang to kabhi nahi dekha. Sirf yahi rang kiun?"

"bachpan se aik hi khawab dekhta hun. Is rang ka shalwar kurta pehne madhosi main madina ki galion main majzoob bane, dholak ki thaap pe, nachta phir raha hun. Bhai Madine jana hai. Kisi aur dukan se mil jaaye ga?'

"nahi bhaiyya ye rang hume nahi maalum - ajeeb hi shade hai"

(man walks away)

Yes, I was. I came to see a dying uncle for 5 days. It was an in-and-out affair, but an interesting one. (I deleted your post as you put my name. Prefer to stay anonymous)

Apologies! Would have loved to meet you and share a meal with you, next time whenever you are in town, please do let me know. In Sha Allah.

How did you find the city? I am sure you would have been fed up with the rains as well as the rest of us.

One day was pretty bad rain, and was stuck near Jail at Pir colony - but was fun hanging out with motor mechanics while I took rescue in their store - learned about their source of happiness :) They were kind to share tea with me while we talked

Sir you mean PIB colony or Pir colony,

If the later, then even I don't know where it is despite being from here.

Such is the vastness of Karachi.

Yeah.. full name was "Pir ilahi bakhsh" colony, shorten later to PIB colony ...overtime, it became only pir colony. It is behind jail where road connects tin-hatti to jail road and shahrahe-faisal. I went to National college near jail so very familiar to those places...
