Rajab Ali

Due to General Zia's flirt (and abuse) with Islam, lot of cultural destruction happened in Pakistan, including its vibrant film industry. Is pe itna kuch likha gaya hai ke - anything to write further is nothing but redundant.

When people asked Bill Gates about spread of pornography via internet, he replied: "First thing men did is chalking pornography over caves' wall. Humans grow out of it" !

One very sweet and soft voice died or atleast lost with that is of Rajab Ali. I heard last of him visiting USA 3 years back. Unfortunately, no major pakistani music site has his songs uploaded. He sung both in urdu and punjabi. Rajab ali ke gale main punjab ki ruh gaati thi !. If any one of you have info., please let me know.

Here is one of his song.

Rajab Ali is Masha-Allah very much alive and still singing. Masha-Allah, he still has the most beautiful voice.

He is here in London, England.

Rajab's been doing concerts and has appeared on British Pakistani channels recently.

He was born in 1954 in Sindh, Pakistan. Rajab learnt singing from a classical singers family and from the age of ten years, sang for the radio. At the age of sixteen years, was asked by music director M.Ashraf to sing the duet shown here with Noor Jahan(1970).
He has sang many super hit songs for Pakistani films and has also made his name as a ghazal singer.

EMI Pakisatn has joined with The Orchard to re-release their collection along with Rajab's 1982 ghazal album "Sham-e-Mulaqat."

Insha-Allah there will be more material to come. He has been asked to work on a new project.
