Ajeeb apni ye zindagi hai!

I am putting this song on this blog as it coincides with theme of this blog. It is sung by a relatively new artist from Karachi named Javeria (for a TV serial I guess) but I think poetry, music and her voice impressed me (and its not easy to impress me!)

Ajeeb apni ye zindagi hai -
sameto jitna, bikhar rahi hai
hum aik pal ko bhi jee na paye
(aur) ye lamha lamha guzar rahi hai

I cannot comment on music but the words of the poetry are compelling, forceful piercing and beautiful
ہم ایک پل بھی جی نہ پاءے
یہ لمحہ لمحہ گزر رحی ہے
Mystic you are good in rendering such verse in English although it may not sting as much as it does in Urdu
I wish I could listen to music sometimes

Is this because of setting of your audio/ear device that you can't hear music?

Yes that is unfortunately the real reason.
I was always fond of good music including classical (Not Western Classical) and not just instrumental but also vocal Long time ago I had traveled long distances to attend the musical performances of Rafi and Geeta (in North East England and of Ravi Shanker in Royal Albert Hall London somehwere in the late sixties, when such performers were not common in the West.
Now the music actually feels 'noise' to my artificial ear. The worst thing is I cannot enjoy even the Qur'an recitation in this Ramadan which to some extent I could do until last year.
