Gaya tha main us purane Shahr
Sab kuch badal gaya hai
Na to ab woh school ke paas purani nahr hai aur na hi woh aaloo chole wala ram chand
Aur school se tumhare ghar tak woh jo
aik purana sa mandir tha
Jo dhundhta tha kharabi ke bahaney kab se*
Jis ka chaak har baam, har ik dar ka dame-aakhir tha*
jahan har shaam, tumhara kumba pooja ke liye deep jalaya kerta tha
- woh bil-aakhir ujaR gaya hai
(suna hai, mohalle ke saare hindu hindustan chale gaye)
Ab wahan aik shopping plaza hai
- aur us ki bunyadoN main madfoon hamara bachpan
- tumhe woh qadeem misri "King Tut" yaad hai na - jis ki kahani hum ne pehli baar 2 aane wali library se le ker paRhi thi - woh jis ki qabar kai hazaron saal baad daryaft hui, aur saari duniya hairaan reh gai
- haan andar sab kuch wesa hi tha
magar ooper dukanain aur jhoot fareb ke karobaar ka shor-o-goga tha

Years ago my blog on my village and associated village of Kakrali attracted an Indian from SC who did come to visit me. His father had a shop in Kakrali where I graduated from high school. What had reminded me also was his word "Jandra" that was the real Panjabi word for Lock and Kakrali produced well-known solid iron locks. As I have written before Kakrali was bigger village before Partition but now Kotla my village has become bigger
He sent me pictures of Kakrali bazar when he visited his village a couple of years later Yes things have changed so much on both sides of the line and some of us do feel it the way for example Amrita preetam did Her Panjabi poem is a masterpiece that will bring tears in the eyes of all Muslims or Hindus or Sikhs
Uncle is Feroz Shah Kotla ,, and yours Kotla is same? or different city?
No actually that is why I wrote full name of MY Kotla -- Kotla ArbAliKhan. There is another Kotla Qasim Khan and the one you are saying I do not know where it would be My Kotla is in District Gujrat Punjab
And likewise there are Kotli also
Kote in Punjabi means a town and Kotla is derived from that
