On 'Silence in Spirituality'

Kisi ne Baba Shakar Ganj se poocha: "Roohaniat main khamoshi (silence) ki itni aehmiat kiun hai?"

UnhoN ne jawab diya: "Roohaniat ke raaste main jo asbaaq, tajalliyaat aur karishmaat hote hain, unhe sab ko bak dene se, us ki taaseer khatam ho jaati hai. Aur agar wahi andar jazb ker liye jaayain to unki taqat aur barh jaati hai. - Aur ye asaan nahi. Jese jese aabid ke darjaat barhte jaate hain, tajalliyaat ka zor barhta jaata hai - isi liye kaha gaya - Lan Taranii. Jab nabioN ke dil bhi dahel jaate hain to aik aabid ki kiya majal ke us ke karishme dekhe.... Magar phir bhi khamoshi shart hai"!

Silence has a certain energy to it like no other energy source. It has the power to get people to think and to act, it can help slow the mind down, and it is a powerful ally in the likes of counseling and life coaching.

Meray aik bohat qareebi aziz aik intehai naik admi thay. Aik daffa apnay baitay ko bulaya aur kehnay lagay 'pichli chand raato may mainay bohat kuch dekha hai aur uper walay nay mujay bohat si posheda bato say ashna keraya, may kal subah tumhay tafseelan bataonga'
itefaq kahiay ya kuch bhi, aglay he roz subah sawairay unko paralysis hoa aur qoat e goyai say mehroom ho gaey. isi halat may rehnay k baad kuch dino may unka intiqaal ho gaya. Shayad uper walay ko yeh manzoor na tha k woh posheda batain 'unintended audience' per ashkaar hoti.

I must relate my experience here. My children graduated from a "Friends School"These schools are run by "Quakers"Who I consider Soofis of Christianity. May be you all do not know them but do google to find more about "QUakers"Graduation arranged in a hall the graduates sit on the raised platform. Program begins with Principal saying something for a couple of minut in two Three or four girls stood up and said some poem describing that they are leaving after so many years of togetherness and friendship followed by silence and most of the students sitting on the platform including some of us in audience were teary eyed But the silence was a very powerful instrument I observed first hand in what everybody said o minuteses Then it follows by complete silence One from the audience stands up and says something about graduation/humanity/ future etc and sits down again silence and after a minute or two somebody else does the same for two minutes and then silence I also took part in saying something
