A Death on Christmas

One of my patients died today on Christmas day. He was from Lebanon. He was a hospice patient. At his death, he was reciting this Dua. This is the first time I have heard this. Now, thinking back, it is so deep. This is in context to Jesus Christ in the Quran. I wonder if he recited this because of Christmas or if he would have done it irrespective of it. I guess, though recited by Jesus, it implies to every human.

Indeed, he died peacefully.

Long time ago I was on rounds in some hospital with nurses and the nurse surprised me
Jesus was not born on 25th December
I have learned more after that
However such a dua is I thought for exhalted persons But as you say we can do for us too but we have been advised to say Kalima Tayyaba at the time of death if possible

Uncle: I came to know this patient with frequent admissions to ICU. He was on hospice and not sure if he was aware of his death that day. I checked ayat in the Quran after his death. I am not sure the exact circumstances but let me think after the episode. God knows more, and bless his soul.

Like Mehnaz says beautiful aya and profound. It is related to both Yahya AS ans Issa AS
To tell you the truth I cannot get into the depth of its meanings. Tafaseer do not help Words are very simple without any question
Why and How Allah SWT uses such words is difficult to understand Going back to your original reference yes it seems OK because all of us are born and all of us will die and all of us will be raised again. Allah SWT however is singling out these two very special prophets with honor of some kind that I cannot fully calculate. That is why I said that this is probably limited to exhalted persons only. Like they say only Allah knows best
