Dhobi Ghat

So I went to see this much awaited movie of Aamir Khan called "Dhobi Ghat". It is not a movie to watch if you are looking for fun! It  is a much serious theme with relatively slow pace. No songs!

Theme of the movie is illusion of love and relationship from 4 different perspectives.

1. Arun (Amir Khan) is a painter who is done with relationships. He is divorced. His ex lives with a son in Australia. He lives alone from one apartment to another apartment in Bombay. He is magan in his life as an artist and even sleeping with a pretty girl doesn't excite him anymore but he carries the dukh of broken relationship in heart (at one point he cries like a baby knowing yasmin's fate) - what an actor he is!

2. Sai is a daughter of wealthy parents. She is a banker in NY and visiting Bombay as she misses that genuine person in life whom she can relate irrespective of his status or class.

3. Munna is a dhobi who lives in slums of Dhobi ghat. He has part time job of city's rat killer at night. He wants to be an actor. He is handsome and chased by women but he is naive, simple immature boy who has no clue of women. He is ashamed of his lower class and thinks that class difference doesn't allow him to approach a wealthy girl.

4. Yasmin  is a character whose story arun finds accidentally. She gets arrange marriage to a typical Indian man in Bombay. As she tries to become a good housewife, her relationship and life ends in horror.

All characters meet for a span of few weeks at one point. Movie is all about their reactions, aspirations and interactions.

Photography, dialogues and direction is outstanding! But at the end of the movie - you will ask -  now what?  or even WTF?
