No one killed Jessica

So I went to see this new art movie from Bollywood, said to be based on a true story - No one killed Jessica.

I think it is a well done movie though like all Indian movies at end it feels like a nag. Plot revolves around a typical desi situation where a simple middle class girl gets killed by a son of minister. Police try to get the culprits but all prime witnesses vanish with bribes and threats. Sister of girl (Vidya Balan) tries to fight the case but after 6 years of drag all culprits declared innocent by court. A daring journalist (Rani mukherji) took the initiative and prove on TV that how case was influenced by power and money.

Theme is basically the role of new, free and daring media (said to be a true scandal exposed by notorious Indian website tehelka.com). It reminded me of recent media frenzy in Pakistan which is influencing each and every matter in society (irrespective of right and wrong)!

I think its a worth watching movie but not needed to be seen on big screen if you can find a good quality DVD. Surprisingly language gets very filthy at many points making it impossible to watch with family. Vidya balan played an extremely non glamorous role and has done a very good job! Actually in first few scenes I can't recognise her. And I have never seen Rani Mukherji as groomed and sexy ever before. Yes she took my breath away!
