Battle of Uhad!

March 19 would always be a black day in Muslim history.

March 19, 625 AD was the day when Battle of Uhud was fought. Muslims were attacked by Meccans. Muslims gained in fight and Meccans start running away leaving behind their maal-o-mataa. Key Muslim fighters at mount Uhud went against Muhammad's order and left their posts to loot the booty! - and no wonder they lost.

We Muslims are corrupt from the days of our infancy. Jo qaum apne saamne khare rasool ka lihaz na ker saki - us se aur kiya umeed ki jaa sakti hai!

Shan, thanks for encouraging word..but again advise is to start writing even privately.

Beyond: I think we all humans are same when it comes to 'money'. But I would like to put my community at higher standard. We should have courage to accept our faults.

I would like to agree with Mystic but to put the "blame" on the whole 'qawm' is too sweeping a statement.
That was very early Islam and Muslims had not had that pakka iman--I mean not all of them__ so a mistake was committed. May be Allah wanted it that way so HE could admonish and teach a lesson that HE did in the Qur'an. So I look at that less accusingly.
However the present day Muslims are probably more greedy than non-Muslims--that I would agree with. I just returned from Umrah so my experience is very fresh

Uncle - Mubarak ho! I wish someday I get that calling too, to perform umrah!

I just vented my frustration as I put my own people to higher standard than others, I guess.
