I have to be honest here. I never get impressed with this writer, named Umerah Ahmad. Though I was told she is very popular in Pakistan, I never found her more than a glorified digest writer. But indeed, she is a fluent writer and knows how to put words together. Few days back, on this blog we talked about patriotism. Somebody send me this on forward and I agree with her that this whole concept of going back and spend retirement in native country is bogus and in my dictionary, you can call it "Pseudo-patriotism". Well written.

sir have you read Bano Qudsia's "Haasil Ghaath"?? Its a beautiful novel. And it touches the same subject beautifully from both perspectives.
Umaira is an okay writer like you said Mystic and I agree with a glorified digest writer title for her --- But I respectfully disagree with you as well.
I don't think its pseudo-patriotism - is the motive behind going back to your country , not everyone wants to do that either ....I want to retire early and go back - why not ? Why someone should stop me ? I want to open up a free clinic and do something for My " Matti " when I am able to do it at my own time and at my own will . My presence in that society with all my experiences of thanda mulk and thandi zamin and all that is worth bringing it back to my homeland ... I am not anyone's property Amrika ho ya Pakistan... I am a human being :)
I would like to go back and do what I want to do - I want to contribute to some extent without anyone guilting me for doing that --- Call it whatever but that's how I roll :)

sir no doubt. Her novel "Raja Gidh" is a masterpiece. But sir Ashfaaq Ahmad had eye for details. Previusly you mentioned you dont agree with him, can you elaborate it here or in some post?? I would like to know why is that. Regards.

Agree with all I myself went through a period Go back and open free clinic type of thinking and now I have been retired over 12 years but that thinking is now under dust
I have not read Qudsia Bano a lot but whatever I have I tend to agree she is a better writer than Ashfaq Ahmad however they are two different persons even if married together
