Long time ago when effective plasmaphoresis or heavy steroid use was not available for treatment of Myasthenic crisis I had a patient in ICU fort some days and one day the chief resident asked me to remove him to regular ward as more pressing traetable cardiac patient had priority I resisted and talked to my boss etc but had to give in Two days later he died (how can I forget him) I always used in my clinical practice his name for asking patients for memory check R Remember this name I will ask you after five minutes Ian Goldberg (yes he was a jew)
I hear you. Been in such situations many times, where I resisted patient discharge or transfer, but had to bow to political pressure. And, later had a bad outcome. Medicine is more of an art than science. That 'extra gut feeling' in physician is due to years of experience which can't be countered just by medical reasoning.
