They'd read 3/14 as "14th March" 14.3 :P

By 22 July, I meant 22/7 which is (along with 3.14) commonly used approximation for PI.
The reason I mentioned 22 July was that in Asian countries we usually read date in day/month/year format so March 14 would be read as 14.3 (rather than 3.14).

My niece has a birthday on 3/14, I guess that's why she teasingly said that message.
