Our children born here raised here how to make them speak Urdu and Panjabi etc. well Long time ago I brought a cassette tape of our friend Moeen Akhter marhoom our kids; his jokes they started understanding but more importantly they fell in love with Urdu.
One joke frequently used by all of us now is "List bana lee"
He is talking of list of things to make ''khana
Newly married begum going out asking husband to make list of things how to make whatever. Radio (jahez ka tha) two stations running together on one wavelength One describing Khana pakanay ki terkeeb and other one exercises
She comes back and asks List banalee? so he say yes and then starts the combination of things like eggs mixing followed by pait under ker lijiay etc.Anyone remembers?
I do uncle. That was his one best item on his early days.
