Anger

Gussa aag ki ruhani shakal hai, jo qaboo main rahe to roti bana ke khorak mauhiyya kerti hai aur be-qaboo ho jaaye to ghar ko jala deti hai !!

But read this interesting story

"Despite its reputation as an impetus to rash behavior, anger actually seems to help people make better choices—even aiding those who are usually very poor at thinking rationally. This could be because angry people base their decisions on the cues that "really matter" rather than things that can be called irrelevant or a distraction. .......So Wesley Moons, a psychologist at the University of California at Santa Barbara, and his colleague Diana Mackie designed three experiments to determine how anger influences thinking—whether it makes people more analytical or careful about their decisions, or whether it leads people to make faster, rasher decisions."

I agree with your initial statement. Anger might be beneficial in some situations but mostly it causes harm.

And studies like this dont really add to universal facts. There will be other studies with slightly altered conditions and the results will be different.
Firstly, participants are just narrating the incidents when they experienced anger, but they are not going through it at that moment in time.
Secondly, their anger is not directed towards the person or the matter for which they have to make some decision.
Thirdly, they are sitting in an environment which dampens their feeling of anger.

I'm sorry to say, but I dont think these kind of studies have any real value.

I read somewhere it is the balance in basic facaulties that is needed for good seerat ..good moral character..

Anger: When in equilibrium it results in valor, forbearance, steadfastness, the ability to restrain anger, and dignity. Excess will result in rashness, boastfulness, pride, inability to restrain anger, and vanity. A deficiency will result in cowardice, disgrace, and feeling of inferiority.
