Picked up from suffering with behaviours
"Nasreen Sharif was once beautiful. So lovely that when she turned 14 her cousin poured a whole bottle of sulphuric acid on her face as she slept. His only excuse was that he couldn't stand other boys whistling at her when she crossed the street. This young woman is now 23 and she no longer bears any resemblance to that youthful beauty. "My skin melted and my hair burned away. I am now blind, I have no ears and I have no sense of smell."

Yes, reading such stories is horrifying, isnt it? just imagine what it is like seeing those women suffering and dying in front of you and you cant do anything. Newly exposed to these kind of monstrosities and over enthusiastic, u perform CPR, but then u realise, they r going anyway, so no CPR can save them, the best u can do is make it as painfree as possible.
Most of them still hope they will get better and everything will be alright, refrain from giving statement against the culprits but then even if they do, who is going to pursue the case in court. The poor parents who cant even afford a saline drip let alone a lawyer? I admire the woman who was set on fire by her in-laws and she grab hold of her sister-in-law and while saving her sister, her husband caught fire as well. She died later in hospital but not before seeing them suffering too.
And there are so many more stories...
Im sorry for the long comment. Your post just brought back those bitter memories. Reading about survivors just makes you think, are they better off or those who are put out of their misery by death.
It is so horrifying in India, Pakistan and bangladesh that no wrds can fully grasp the horror.
May God bless us !
