The following is another controversial piece I received (from another gentleman) on Baqar Eid. Again I am posting here to demonstrate different thinkings people have on different issues.
"For most of the last night I was kept up by the bleating bakra in my neighbor's backyard. Had a fitful nights sleep at best and woke up in the morning to a cascade of children running around the aforementioned bakra. Clearly all these children were entirely excited about the impending gruesome death of the bakra. Gruesome meaning having its throat slit without any care of pain and watching its blood flow out while the poor animal gasps its last breaths. And yes, children standing around enjoying the spectacle. No wonder these children grow up to become adults that enjoy killing. So, why we as Muslims are surprised that our children grow up to be killers that enjoy killing (suicide bombers)?"

I certaily disagree
"Sacrifice tradition is going for centuries. Suicide bombing is completely a new political phenomenon nothing to do with this religious tradition. And if that makes children killers in real sense, what about all violent video games, movies and animal hunting in western world?

Annonymous 1 - First I wrote my reply in post itself but decide to move it as it may dilute the essence of post. When I decide to fix, it was public computer so didn't sign on..but posted again with my name as above.
I certainly diagree as I said above...
Well anything happening out of ordinary will attract children's attention and can make them excited. An ice cream cart, new neighbour moving in, new toy, two adults fighting... Just goes to show kids are kids and adults make their decisions as adults.
If non-muslims labelling their terrorist acts as 'saving the world' makes u believe they are the saviors and ppl who are trying to defend their homeland are the terrorists means Allah gave u some brains but u dont bother using them. Such a waste.
Anny. - I agree lot of gray zone exist on every debate, culture, religion, traditions...
I certainly diagree as I said above..
Ofcourse, my comment was directed at the person who wrote that particular views abt Qurbani, not u per se. I did read your comment both as a part of your post and when it became ur comment on ur own post.hehe
Killing , hannn!
Just see who has done the real killing.
I am sure you have not forgotten the comments of a Woman politician (I emphsize woman because women are said to be more compassionate), whjen she was told just a few years ago that one million chIraqi children have been killed due to invasion:
This is worth the sacrifice (or something like that
No rmeorse. This killing is not in the name of Allah
How anybody could compare theiss scrificing with killing I cannot imagine except those who are strict vegetarian/Hindu or who call out for Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and who will wear mink coats and eat a berger without any problem. Yeah I agree with Mystic.
Interesting....our faith tell us to sacrifice buy, spend money and sacrifice...material revolution of west make us theives because we want stuff how reasonable is that than??????
I remember as a child... I never enjoyed the goat being slaughtered. It was indeed painful and it still is not something terribly enjoyable; but to me thats the essence of the whole thing. Getting attached and letting go of it in the name of Allah. Whoever has critised the idea has every right to do so but must first try and understand the spirit and secondly try to recall... did he or she enjoy seeing an animal being killed and grew up to be a so called islamist or "terrorist..."
I certainly disagree with whole notion (I said above) as in all cultures, countries and religion - kids remain exposed to all degrees of violence but not all kids become criminal.....
Also plz. read uncle saugoree's post related to this at
