On "Acceptance of Death"

I work in a profession where every day I see people making peace with death and their agony. It is very sobering. It always flashed back in my head final paragraphs of Leo Tolstoy's "The Death of Ivan Ilyich" (here). Today an interesting statement made by my one patient.

"I was afraid I will die, then I was afraid I will not die"!

Reminds me of my patient with brain tumor in coma who said two days before death (his family were there) opening his eyes from coma :
I wish I knew who shot JR
Yes those were the days of the TV series of "Dallas" and the famous/infamous character of JR being played by Larry Hagan ( already famous for his role of that AstroNOT who was loved by the Genie)
May be some of you remember the frequent TV ad for Dallas saying Who ""shot JR
