Choice

He was sitting across me in his elegant house and expensive furnitures and in between our conversation doing his business deals over bluetooth earpiece. But during conversation, I realized he can't see things beyond weather, car, business and "Jo sirf aankhon se nazar aata hai". He could see wood but not the architecture. He could see diagram but not the concept. I thought for a moment and asked myself: "Would I like to be in his place with that intelligence?". And I was very clear in my answer: "NO".

Shantaram

I liked this novel of Gregory David Roberts, Shantaram. I didn't know till I read this novel and was already impressed that this novel is going to be a movie due to release in 2007. Shahrukh Khan is also in the movie and actually Russell Crowe wanted to play the central role but johnny depp is playing it.

Its a huge novel of 900 pages. What really took me is, simple but deep lessons from life inscribed all over the book. It is written in a real novel form as each character has its own life, psychology and background and they all interact in a very natural life. Its all about real life and real people on the streets of Bombay and most are true from life of author. It later take you to Afghanistan of russian war era. It talk about gangs, weapons, drugs, politics of religion, war, palestine, police brutality etc. etc.

Just one example of quote from a book: "We concentrate our laws, investigations, prosecutions and punishments on how much crime is in the sin, rather than how much sin is in the crime"!

Exam

Taking an exam is an art. It has nothing do with your intelligence.

1. A good exam taker knows "what to study" and "what not to study". He knows what examiner would like to ask.

2. A good exam taker does not give up his normal life style for the sake of exam and does not study more than 6-8 hours a day and that also in 3-4 divided sessions. He makes full plan of sessions in advance for each day available till exam day depending on topics need to be covered. One session is dedicated each day to review and revise the previously studied topics.

3. He keeps more eye on graphs, tables, pictures, algorithms and quick pearls, rather studying full text.

4. He will practice more and more MCQs (multiple choice questions) as available (if that is part of the exam).

5. He usually knows the tricks of - "how to study", like recording a certain topic on a tape recorder and listening to it while driving.

6. He stop studying on the afternoon of day before exam and take the rest of the day as exam is over.

7. He sleeps very good before exam night.

8. He arrives early at exam center with good breakfast, available munch and water during exam.

9. He give social gossip calls to friends during break.

10. He does not worry about results once exam is over as he knows actual life is waiting outside the exam hall.

Negotiation

The whole material life is a negotiation. The whole trick of negotiation is "to know what's going on inside the opposite mind" or on the other side of mirror "to make sure, other side doesn't know what's going on in your mind".

3 basic priniciples of above trick:

1. To know the level of your strengthes and weaknesses in comparison to other people in market OR what extra you can offer which no other can offer.

2. To know how desperate is other side OR what is on stake for other side.

3. To know how far you can stretch the other mind psychologically OR to know where is the breaking point.

A good negotiator is a master of creating certainty and uncertainty together and to benefit as much from others' offerings by that enviroment .

2 thoughts after one semi-sleep dream.

1. It was a dream, he was coming to touch me, than he touched me but that was outer real touch get mingled in my dream. Now the Q? Does sensation of touch get delayed or my brain sensed someone coming to touch me ? (Make sense?, weird thought?)

2. As outer sensations of light, touch, smell etc. get mingle in our dreams' stories, I am thinking, does cosmic, magnetic and all unseen different waves from universe intermingle and mold our thought processes?

1. If you have one person in life to whom you can devout completely, share anything and vibrate with him without saying a word or despite he or she is 1000 miles away. You are double lucky, if that person is your spouse.
