Lotto

Is blog pe main ne apni aik cousin sister ‘Nagin’ ka zikar kiya tha (here). Main jub bhi Canada aata hun, Nagin ke haan hi therna hota hai. Ab ki baar bhi Canada aaya to Nagin ke ghar thera. Aik Sham, Nagin apne bachhon ko le ker mall ki taraf ja rahi thi. Main bhi saath chal para. Mall pe Nagin ‘Lotto’ ke stall pe khari ho gai.

Hafte ke 2/4 dollar main itni saari umeedaiN aur khushiaN, bhale kuch der ke liye hi mil jaain to kiya bura hai” !!

Faith is one thing that help you survive each day. Though from islamic point of view lottery isn't encouraged but if she is doing so to teach her kids that sumtimes its "OK" to take a chance...then her kids are lucky. May Allah bless them :)

I agree with anonymous...only few lucky ones are taught in their childhood to take that chance or sieze the day. May Allah bless them and you.

That what I thought that lottery is kind of a "juwa" and may not be very islamic...but I liked her logic too

The way to hell is paved with good intentions.

There is a reason for everything Islam prohibits or discourages us to do. Little things lead to big things. This is exactly how Shaitaan intice us into committing sins. There are hundred other better ways to bring home the same message. Its upto us what we choose for ourselves.

Listen to this story (true) and then think about the 'chance' or "Juwa".
He was a middle aged man and after my investigations I completed his diagnosis as Cancer of lung with secondaries in the brain.
He said thank you doc. now I'd like to go home. I dont want treatment. I or his wife could not change his mind. So he was discharged.
After a few days his wife called me worried sick.
he had been to Las Vegas and had lost 5K dollars and he was getting ready to go again.
So I talked to him and he agreed to come to see me. I had to help his wife and his family. They were not rich. (Yeah! I know I am a neurologist, but I guess I had better relationship with his family than his own MD.)
That 's all he wanted to enjoy before his death. I guess there are many people who 'enjoy' and I am not talking about compulsive gamblers.
