I have short hair with blonde highlights. My accent is pure american. I wear Jeans and T shirts. I hang out with "gora bachhas". Most of my collection is of english songs. I watch american football. Yes I do puff cigrettes and get drunk with beers in dorm parties.
Magar kubhi kubhi mera bhi dil kerta hai ke kisi desi dhabe pe khare ho kar pani puri khauN. Eid pe haatoN pe Mehndi lagauN aur bhare bhare duppatte wala shalwar kameez pahenuN. Ab bhi jub abbu 'youtube' pe Mehdi hasan sunte hain to mere pauN computer ke paas jum jaate hain aur mere dil ki dharkanaiN tez ho jaati hain. Main ne Lahore chora to saat (seven) baras ki thi magar ab bhi dil kerta hai ke ur (fly) ke Rabia khala ke aangan main paunch jaun aur aankh macholi khelun....
Ooper se hum ABCD lurkian kitni hi angrez nazar aa'ain magar hamare andar ki Pakistani lurki kubhi nahi marti!!

bahut achcha likha!!!
Extremely weird. What's the background on this?
Ridima - thank you
Mao - Why you find it "extremely" weird. I just tried to portray the mindset of an ABCD girl. (Due to privacy reason I can't write the whole conversation/scenario/background)
hmmmm...pakistani larki kabhi nai marti..mager cigs and beer? I don't care much for the cigs mager alcoholic drinks are a strict prohibition. If you cannot even restrict yourself from something so easyyy...then..khair.
Annonymous - Does drinking take away the core of inner cultural mind set?
nai..what i meant was sure...her culture is kept..but her religiously induced moral values seem to be ignored.
thats true.
But than I always get stuck about getting judgemental.....
now u r making judgement abt anonymous one!
Religon isthe core not the culture and environment if ppl can get influenced rather INTEGRATED with environment they live in or grew up what abt the religon distance from culture creates nostalgia wht abt religious deviation ...it's not judgement on a girl it's a discussion on approach...don't tag it by Pakistani Larki ....kyoon kay wo mohtraam hay aur ye ehtraam ous ko deen ki passdari nay dya hay...ABCD stands for american born confused desi. ...u r talking abt confedentiality u haven't kept it secret...u r worried abt identity because u posted it and coloured it with ur perspective thats a bias too but a positive
From TO
Take her back and she'll turn pure angrez visible and invisible dimensions play parallel parts. It's just like the luv of snow or the other side o the fence!! once u r there scene changes so quick
Annonymous 1 - I liked yr statement: "...if ppl can get influenced rather INTEGRATED with environment they live in or grew up what abt the religon distance from culture creates nostalgia wht abt religious deviation ...it's not judgement on a girl it's a discussion on approach..."
Annymous 2 - interesting statement (and true): "invisible dimensions play parallel parts"...
On snow: per Faiz: "jese har lehza badalta huwa aaina hai"
@mystic - if this is from a real conversation then wow! The girl is really pathetic. But if this is something that is part a real-life situation and part your imagination of what this girl is thinking - then I think it reeks of melodrama. You know just how its narrated - not the content.
app jessay hi logon nay pakistan ko budnaam kya hay ...burayi ko jahan dekha jayey ous ka churcha na kya jayey....u r insane ...u talk with such pride with being in america nd make us feel worthless by affiliating these "so called" ppl don't label them with us they r disorientated ones....if u r so proud of land of opportunity then what is this cry abt remembering pakistan stay in one country nd have loyality for one ....ppl in two boats drown quite easily...just check ur toolbox that ur country privillaged u as a doctor nd land of opportunity took it away...clear prespective ...clear destination ...we make chioces than why to pass the buck to nation and culture...
Mao- Urdu words were not as clear as I put there but mostly contents are same.
Yes you can say last line has some reeks of melodrama
...with a lump in my throat, and tears in my eyes, you have left me speechless...
hmmmmm... Is it good or bad?
If it reflects something from your life or anyone you know, please share.
This is me. It is my life... but my tears are for my daughters. I wish them to feel this feeling, but alas, I have not had the fortune to take them to Pakistan --nor are they surrounded by other Pakistani's. I am afraid they may miss out on this feeling--this "bittersweet-love-affair" feeling.
I think every generation does its own experiments. What we can do except wihing them all the best in their new world.
