Sleep

Like many other questions of life, which remain unanswered for me:
"Is sleep, a gift or a curse for any given life?"

But what if we have full 24 hours with a brain and a body which does not crave any sleep.

Isn't our life will be 33% more?...Is it curse that we loose 33% of our life by just sleeping....

I love sleeping. I think, it keeps man connected to self and other side of world. I wrote posts earlier on dreams ans spirituality. I think in that sense its a gift. But again, supreme being could have provide guidance without taking 8 hours every day from us...

I just hate giving 8 hours everyday to sleep.

What if...we had a body that didnt 'crave' for food. Then we didnt need to spend that much money on food and no food shortage in the world. What if our body healed itself and we didnt need doctors and medicines. What if we had such thick skin that didnt need clothes and shoes. What a life it would have been!!!

No offence intended, but this q is one of those useless questions 'pondered upon' by wannabe intellectuals who have too much time at hand. and then they lament the loss of 8 hrs of sleep. By the way for a normal adult 6 hrs sleep is enough. Its upto you how much you want to increase or decrease it.

Sleep is a means to get guidance from Almighty??!!!! I guess Almighty doesnt agree here otherwise there wouldnt have been these many Prophets and Holy books sent by HIM.

Annonymous 2: Its OK to have annonymous comments - in case if ppl. doesn't have blogger account.

Annonymous 1; Honestly, I scratched my head many times, thinking, are these worthewhile questions? But per Ghalib

Aate hain gaib se ye mazameen khayal main
Ghalib sareer khama nawaye sarosh hai

I agree - without food and clothes, there will be no flavour of life and cultures but again question is same - does sleep catalyze this 'joy' of life or act as a buffer to balace this 'joy'.

Guidance via dream is a detailed topic and can't be dealth with comments here, but yes I absolutely believe on this path of guidance from all mighty !!
