اُس عورت کی اس بات سے میرے ذہن میں ایک عجیب سی بات آئی کہ اگر اس بچے کا باپ ہوتا اور خبر لکھواتا تو اُس نے سفید شلوار ہی لکھوانی تھی. لیکن ماں کیوں کہ اُسے روزانہ دُھلی ہوئی شلوار پہناتی ہوگی، تو اسے اس بات کا ‏احساس ہے. اس لیے اگر بہن بھی ہوتی تو یہی کہتی کہ اب تو میلی ہو چکی ہو گی. اس سے مجھے یہ احساس ہوا کہ عورت اور طرح سوچتی ہے مرد اور طرح سوچتا ہے.

ماں اور طرح سوچتی ہے بہن اور طرح سوچتی ہے، باپ اور بھائی اور طرح سوچتے ہیں.

اس بات نے مجھے ایک نیا احساس دیا کہ چیزوں کو اور ‏حالات کو عورت کی نگاہ سے دیکھنا بھی بہت اہم ہے.

یہ شاید ٹراٹسکی نے کہیں لکھا ہے کہ

"If you wan to change the situation, look at the situation with the eye of a woman".

Until high school, I thought the most beautiful girls always preferred the stud—a handsome guy with great hair and a fit body, the one with blue eyes, the kind you see in teenage movies.

Then, my reality started to crack.

I saw hot girls with odd-looking guys. Strange-looking guys. Men with outdated sense of fashion, if any. Men who needed to see the barber quickly.

“What the hell is going on?”

Society teaches us money and looks get you ass. And in a way, they are. But having those things does not guarantee success with women.

You can look fit and fresh, have a good job or run your business, be well-spoken, and still not get the girl. Reality is too dynamic and unexpected to be bound by rules.

Your attitude, confidence, and approach to life matter much more.

When you’re happy, everybody wants a piece of that happiness.

In the past ten years, I have met all sorts of men. The ones who “made it” with women were guys who had a life and were happy about it. Guys who had good intentions for the people around them.

They weren’t caught up with the latest pickup technique.

They shared their good vibe. The laughs and humor. The sense of comfort and calmness around them. And they kicked ass.

Stones and snakes of relationship

 The following picture is a great metaphor for any disturbed human relationship, particularly a man and a woman.

Often, a man can't see a snake holding a woman to go up on the cliff, making the man confused as to why she is not coming up, though I am holding her hand. And, many times, a woman can't appreciate the weight of the stone a man carries on his back, thinking why he is not making a full effort to pull me up the cliff.

Girl (apparently drunk): "If I agree to go with you, I am sure, as a man you will take me."

Married for 7 lives

I have never been a firm believer in reincarnation. I read about it every day. I met people who vouched about it from their anecdotal experience. Following is another experience from my one trip to El Salvador, where I took a cultural trip to see Mayan culture.

I met a couple in our tour group. It was interesting as the woman's name was 'Maya.' They asked me to believe in their tale in the name of their children. Maya described her story in the presence of her husband as below:

"As far as we remember, we first met 3500 years ago. My man was in somewhat 50-60 years of age when he died, and it was a scorching hot day. He was dressed in a classic Mayan tribal outfit. He probably died of heart failure as he was swollen and used to get short of breath easily the day he died. I was in love with him. I died very soon afterward in his grief. I returned to this world 2500 years afterward in old India, where I used to dress in white Saree and wear flowers in my hair. He took another thousand years to get born again. When he asked me if I should have found another soul in between, I replied: my heart didn't accept any other man, but I became friends with another female soul - and became kind of a lesbian until  you and I were born together."
